As a part of international negotiations aiming at keeping the increase in global temperature under 2 °C, Belgium has agreed to adopt a low-carbon strategy in order to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 80 to 95% by 2050.
This ambitious goal must be implemented at the regional, or even local, scale. How can Brussels benefit from this? What technologies could make a difference and boost energy efficiency while enabling decentralised energy production? How could Brussels regain its leading position and hold a strategic and symbolic position while creating local jobs?
Geothermics is among the technological solutions that can further this goal in Brussels.
